Curriculum

When planning and implementing a curriculum, it has to consist of knowledge and skills to be acquired in the educational program as well as the plans for the experiences through which children’s learning will take place (Copple & Bredekamp). To have an effective curriculum, a curriculum has to have goals that are clearly defined, shared, and understood by all the administrators, teachers, and families. I have read various topics or documents regarding planning and implementing curriculum in an early childhood setting. Through this, I have learned that an effective curriculum must be well-thought, well-planned, it has a purpose or a goal to achieve, meaningful, and based on the skills that each child can do and the new skills that he/she is ready to learn.
